Materials
For a scrappy look:
- Assorted print scraps at least 6 ½” square in gold, black, tan, green, brown, red, and blue
For a controlled look:
- ¼ yard each of a gold and a black print
- 1 yard tan print
- 5/8 yard each of a green, brown, and a red print
- 1 yard blue print
Also:
- 2 ¼ yards medium blue print for the border and binding
- 4 1/8 yards backing fabric
- 75” square of batting
Cutting
Dimensions include a ¼” seam allowance.
- Cut 5: 6 ½” squares, gold print
- Cut 4: 6 ½” squares, black print
- Cut 28: 6 ½” squares, tan print
- Cut 12: 6 ½” squares, green print
- Cut 16: 6 ½” squares, brown print
- Cut 20: 6 ½” squares, red print
- Cut 6: 9 ¾” squares, blue print, then cut them in quarters diagonally to yield 24 setting triangles
- Cut 2: 5 ¼” squares, blue print, then cut them in half diagonally to yield 4 corner triangles.
- Cut 2: 6 ½” x 62” lengthwise strips, medium blue print for the border
- Cut 2: 6 ½” x 73” lengthwise strips, medium blue print, for the border
- Cut 5: 2 ½” x 62” lengthwise strips, medium blue print, for the binding
Directions
- Referring to the photo for color orientation, lay out the 6 ½” squares, the blue print setting triangles, and the blue print corner triangles.
- Stitch the squares and triangles into diagonal rows.
- Press the seam allowances of adjoining rows in opposite directions.
- Join the rows.
- Measure the length of the quilt. Trim the 6 ½” x 62” medium blue print strips to that measurement and stitch them to opposite sides of the quilt.
- Measure the width of the quilt, including the borders. Trim the 6 ½” x 73” medium blue print strips to that measurement and stitch them to the remaining sides of the quilt.
- Finish the quilt according to the General Directions, using the 2 ½” x 62” medium blue print strips for the binding.

Jubilee Pillow
Size: 16” square
Materials
- Assorted print scraps each at least 1 ¾” square in gold, black, tan, green, brown, red, and blue
- 1/8 yard medium blue print
- 18” square backing fabric
- 18” square of batting
- 18” square of muslin
- 16” pillow form
Cutting
- Refer to the cutting list for “Christmas Around the World” but instead of cutting 6 ½” squares, cut 1 ¾” squares.
Also:
- Cut 6” 3 1/8” squares, blue print, then cut them in quarters diagonally to yield 24 setting triangles
- Cut 2: 1 7/8” squares, blue print, then cut them in half diagonally to yield 4 corner triangles
- Cut 2: 2 ¼” x 12 5/8” medium blue print strips
- Cut 2: 2 ¼” x 16 ½” medium blue print strips
Directions
- In the same manner as for “Christmas Around the World,” lay out and stitch the squares and triangles into rows and press.
- Join the rows.
- Stitch the 2 ¼” x 12 5/8” medium blue print strips to opposite sides of the pillow top.
- Stitch the 2 ¼” x 16 ½” medium blue print strips to the remaining sides of the pillow top.
- Layer in this manner: muslin, batting and pillow top, right side up. Quilt as desired.
- Center the pillow top on the 18” backing fabric, right sides together, and stitch leaving a 12” opening on one side.
- Trim the backing, muslin, and batting even with the pillow top.
- Turn the pillow top right side out.
- Insert the pillow form and blindstitch the opening closed.
