ABOUT MOUNTAINSIDE QUILTS

Thanks for taking time to visit with me at Mountainside Quilts. I have enjoyed quilting for over 25 years, ever since the day I stopped by a friend's house and saw a quilt on every bed! I was so inspired, that I went home and started a Grandmother's Fan for our daughter. As soon as the quilt was finished, our three sons were waiting in line for a quilt of their own! |
| Years ago, a friend asked me to teach quilting to a group of ladies. From that request, a dozen women each made a Log Cabin quilt. That day was so much fun that it has inspired a Quilt-in-a-Weekend for the last 18 years in our communities. We now have 125 ladies annually attending this retreat. This quilt event is not only a time for quilting, but for friendship and spiritual refreshment. My book "Weekend Quilts and Pillows" was a direct result of the need for easy projects with interesting design that can be pieced in 8 hours or less. My most recent book, "Cuddle-Up" Quilts is a treasury of quilts and accessories for babies and toddlers. |

Thirteen years ago our family moved to the Endless Mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania. What a surprise to find out that in our little town of Montrose, there would be a quilt magazine company! For nine years I enjoyed working as a co-editor and pattern writer for Quiltworks Today and Miniature Quilts. Currently, I'm freelancing as a quilt designer and pattern writer for Fabric Trends and The Quilter. Recently, I had the pleasure of reproducing an antique fabric collection called Pennsylvania Bluestone by Windham. My Gammill Long Arm machine is seldom quiet, since I offer machine quilting services to many quilting friends and family. |
| I thank God for giving me my wonderful family, friends and a way to share my love of quilting with others! |

Blessings to you!
